The Ferry Point Park in the Bronx is a huge open area with open access to the East River and panoramic views of the distant Skyline of Manhattan.
Ferry Point Park is located in next to the Throggs Neck area in the south Bronx. It is a good place to relax and has great panoramic views over the East River and the distant skyline of Manhattan. Especially sunrise and sunset times are great times for visiting and making photographs!
For the shots I used a Pentax K-5 DSLR with and a cheap but good Tamron 70-300mm tele lens. The initial images were shot in color. To emphasize the far away building structures I had to cut trough the haze. By converting the images to Black and White and adjusting the RGB parameters I could dramatically improve the contrast between the sky and the buildings.
